Qatar Visa Run

The big trip is here. It is big not because of the length of the journey but the significance. In order for Viviane to get a 90 day visit visa for the UAE, she needs to leave the country. Being the proud owner of a Brazilian passport that is easier said than done.

Long story short, I have taken two days off and the team here at work who told me we could get this visa without her leaving the country need to come through for us while we are away. Saturday night we will be at the Movenpick but on Sunday night we will move over to new W Hotel in Doha. It looks pretty kick ass on the web. Our room will be the bomb. But the need to make this happen in our absence. The key is Viviane gets her passport back as we board the plane from her previous employer. They will stamp the passport with an exit stamp. With a copy of that stamp the court will know she left and they should issue the visa. Enshallah.

Viviane is anxious. So am I. This has not gone exactly according to plan. I thought this was going to be done already. This process is not in my hands. I don’t speak Arabic and I don’t know the system. We need help. We are bringing the camera and finally I will get out to another GCC country. Keep us in your prayers, we need this to happen or a number of plans fall apart.

I get to finally fly Emirates. And on the way back, Qatar Airlines, which is also supposed to be a 5 star experience. It is only 65 minutes from gate to gate.
