Now here is an article that I really enjoyed. It is broken into two parts, the first half talks about a big passion of mine, and the second half, due to my life over the last 6 months, is becoming another passion as well. (I live with a Brazilian who lived 99% of her entire life in Salvador, Brazil.)
It is written by a Democrat, one that I think I could sit next to on a long plane flight. (And her next to me as well. And according to what people tell me, I guess that is saying something.) Anyway, the point is she hits some balls out of the park and still holds her own. Something hard to do for anybody no matter what convictions they hold. Especially in a magazine like Salon which can be full of some rather opinionated and critical readers.
Then, she switches gears and talks about the Carnival. I just might have to miss another Mardi Gras at Ryan’s house, but next year I will be on the Northern Atlantic Coast of Brazil rather than the Southern Coast of the Persian Gulf.
