Lunch in Ramadan / The weather

It is against the law to eat in public during Ramadan. Let alone, drink water or chew gum. It is quite a large challenge for a spoiled Westerner that is simple used to going to an open restaurant, let alone a vending machine and getting a coke or a coffee shot to score a triple shot no whip skim milk soy latte.
I was at the mall with Viviane. In an effort to impress her, I bagged a lunch. We got to about 3 PM and I finally said lets go to the car, I am hungry. We had to eat in secret. We had to stay hidden. We got to the car and next to us was an Infinity SUV and it was full of 4 girls eating sandwiches so I felt better about what we were doing. Checking the mirrors when you drink out of a water bottle. The car wash guys would walk buy and we would hide the food. We kept laughing as we had to eat food as if we were smoking a dooby. We were breaking the law. You can’t eat in public during Ramadan. We were in a huge parking structure sub basement parking lot and in a car but not good enough. It was hilarious. Eating and laughing.
I made a tomato basil and white English sharp cheddar cheese and Belgian salami sandwich with mustard and mayo with iceberg lettuce. Toasted fresh loaf white bread slices. Oh baby. Needless to say, she enjoyed the sandwich, but we had to hide. It was classic. I had the famous BrotherBill egg salad sandwich with laughing cow cheese. Toasted bread of course. Nacho cheese tortilla chips. The point still is that it was like drinking beer before a Danzig concert, it was like being 18 with a Budweiser in your hand. Constantly looking over your shoulder.
The weather today was shit. Humidity so high the windows weep. There is so much dust in the air visibility is a kilometer. My throat hurts. I can’t see building right in front of me. I walk outside and my glasses fog up. It is a crazy combination. Dusty, wet, hot, sticky, and no wind. Ugh.
I am not eating correctly. Lunch in public is illegal. There are restaurants that serve, well there is one near work but it is not my favorite to say the least. People at work are zombies. I still have not been to in Iftar tent. I don’t want the food there. Don’t worry I will get there. Just to be a good local.
Gotta go. I bought Children of Dune and it is a trip. Time to watch the second half.

Ramadan Kareem!
