The Ben Hur Challenge

Quick story.
I watch very different TV now that I am over here. I have Turner Classics and came across Ben Hur. I have never seen it before, it won I think 10 accadamy awards. I believe the only movie that has won more is Titannic. (I have never seen that movie by the way.)
Anyway, I sat down and watched this sucker.
Ben Hur could never be made in the Hollywood of today. NEVER. I had no idea who Ben was, and what the story was. I knew it was a big production, and it was, but that was only a small part of what made it great. The story is great. What drives him. Who he makes friends with. His ethics.
I challenge everyone reading this to go rent Ben Hur and watch it.
And I am sure, that when the movie is over, you will look at who ever is next to you and say crazy BrotherBill was right. The Hollywood of today would not be caught dead making this film.
I will allow you to elaborate within your own circles of why this is the case and if I am right or wrong.
I mean Hollywood made this movie. It is one of their greatest. At least the Academy says it is. I think they get to decide...
A very interesting lesson in history. Things change.
