Got the driver's license

I walked into the RTA (DMV) prepared. I had my passport, and a copy, my work visa, and a copy, my CA license, and a copy, results of my eye test, an official sponsorship letter from Hill International, a passport photo of myself, and 110 dirhams.

I experienced it again, and that is that Arab men do not queue. (stand in line) They just walk up and start talking. It happens at fast food restaurants, it is amazing. They drive the same way. IF you ask me it is one of the real reason we have traffic, yes the roads are to few and over crowded, but none of these people watch NASCAR. It is not a group effort on the roads or in a crowd. All for one and one for one.

Anyway, I was prepared and it felt great to answer yes to every question. The guy did not read the paperwork I filled out, he just stamped it and sent me to a window. A lady put it in the computer. (Arab gui is right to left, it is crazy to watch) and she said “go in that door” my picture was taken and bomb. 2 minutes later I walked out of there with a license. Being an American helped, I did not need to take a driving test.

I will live in the South Ridge Apartment complex in Burj Dubai area. I was unable to find a one bedroom with a view of the Burj. L It seems the building all have 2 or 3 bedrooms facing that direction. I wanted to wake up everyday and look at that thing. Not to be. 21st floor, building 3. Look it up, or just wait for Fischetti and he will build a Google link in no time.

The complex is just on line. Very clean. I have a kick ass shower. It will be a month or two before it is really on line and starts to get traffic. The flowers were just planted. It still has that new sterol feel. I working the money end with help from Dad. I may need a face to face person at Wells Fargo. I am not having luck with getting the money over to the National Bank of Abu Dhabi. I am still working on it. But I only have so much time.

Went to the Mall of the Emirates and saw Ski Dubai through the glass. Have not hit the slops yet. I may at some point. I also found Marc Jacobs, so just in case I feel like buy the best hand bags in the world, I know where to go. They sell T-shirts for men in that place for $350 US. Apples are theme this year. Cool.

Back to work, I have a PM slot that needs to be filled yesterday.
Later.

Good for you Bill. Drivers license good but yikes on their traffic behavior. Next step almost complete whoopee! love Mom
